+ Am I a candidate for Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Low hormone levels can cause changes in your body that cause uncomfortable symptoms, and these levels can decrease gradually as a woman ages. We have created this QUIZ to help you determine if you might be suffering from hormone imbalance and if Hormone Replacement Therapy might be a good option for you.

+ Is Hormone Replacement Therapy safe?

Hormone Replacement Therapy is safe and can be very effective in restoring energy and improving overall wellbeing. In addition, it has been found that lower levels of testosterone are associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarctions and stroke, as well as a risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

+ What effects can hormone imbalance have on my body?

Most men and women seem to relate depleting hormone levels to sexual drive or libido. Though it is true that libido can be directly affected, hormone imbalance also affects musculoskeletal, immune and brain function, and metabolism.

+ How will you determine my hormone replacement therapy medication dosage?

We recognize that each patient’s body and situation is unique, and so we will prescribe a customized treatment plan for you. The determination of dosage comes from the hormone levels present in your body. After the tests are taken to see your current levels, Dr. Scott will determine how much medication you need to receive during your treatment dosage.

+ How will my hormone levels be tested?

After your initial HRT Consultation with Dr. Mace Scott , we will complete your bloodwork at Chronos to test your hormone levels.

+ What are the benefits of achieving ideal hormone levels with hormone replacement therapy?

Women’s Hormone Replacement Therapy can result in increased sex drive, decreased body fat, increased bone density, as well as improvements in cognitive function. Many patients also experience significant relief from hot flashes, fatigue and mood swings.

+ How do I know if my symptoms are hormone-related?

Many of the symptoms of female hormonal imbalance begin very gradually. You may not notice them at first, but as more symptoms appear and worsen over time, they become more obvious.

+ What is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?

As the transition into menopause begins, changes in hormone levels can cause uncomfortable symptoms, such as hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping, mood swings, mild depression and/or irritability. Hormone Replacement Therapy boosts your hormone levels to relieve and prevent the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Ask your healthcare provider if HRT is right for you.

+ What are the stages of menopause?

There are three stages of menopause. Perimenopause is the transition stage between one year after your last menstrual cycle and when menopause symptoms begin. The second phase, menopause, can be confirmed by your hormone therapy doctor, and menopausal symptoms can last for years. Many women choose hormone therapy during this time to relieve and prevent the symptoms of aging. Fortunately, menopausal symptoms eventually subside and postmenopause begins.
